English site for the LEGO parts finder app
We modeled Lego figures, made a video presentation of the apps workflow and build a cool website for the super-tech Brickit application.
TIRED OF LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT PARTS?
WE TOO!
LEGO is awesome. You know what’s not awesome? Searching for the exact part among the mountain of three thousand other Lego parts. Like I wanted to have a nice time and build some kind of machine, but in the end I only tried in vain to look for the necessary parts among a large mountain of other parts.

And it also happens that you want to build something cool — but you have no idea what. Sort of there are plenty of details, and there is a desire to build something great — but inspiration does not come.

Who’s gonna help? Well, of course, guys from digital :) The Brickit project came to us for the site. The idea of a mobile app was absolutely brilliant. You just mark in the catalog which Lego sets you already have, and the app will show you what else you can build from these sets. And it won’t just show, but give you a step-by-step instruction.

And the main feature will appear in the application very soon — the search for the necessary part in your mountain of details. The neural network finds and recognizes Lego details through computer vision. And the AR-technology highlights the necessary parts for assembly right on the phone.

Isn’t it fantastic! So it is!

BUILDING AN ENGLISH PROTOTYPE
The prototype was built in English right away, because the USA was the main market. We love when the words on the site sound lively, light and somewhat playful. The Brickit prototype seems to be particularly successful this way.

When we were building only a black and white prototype of the site, we were already pretty excited. Making sites for such cutting-edge projects is pure pleasure.

You can view the entire prototype here.
COLLECTING DESIGN "DETAIL-BY-DETAIL"
Here we go to the fullest. Lego is about creativity, that’s why we did our best in design.

The entire layout you can view here.
  • Custom models
We have collected several 3D models from Lego parts. We have made them multi-colored so that they look as close as possible to the real ones.
  • A finding part animation
We have made an animation of finding the right part in the Lego mountain. We slightly highlighted the found detail so that it could be seen better on the site.
  • A bunch of Lego parts
We have modeled a mountain of Lego parts. The one that users face when they begin to build something new.
  • Words from parts
We have modeled the words in some of the blocks entirely from Lego parts. It turned out to be bombastic.
JUST A FEW COMMENTS ON WORK DELIVERY
We have a distributed team and no central office. We never meet with clients, so all communication is online.

When delivering the project, it is very important to convey to the client all the ideas and meanings that you put into the work. Therefore, we never drop the work in the chat without comments and do not leave the client alone with the project.

To deliver the work, we either call the client, or record a video with explanations for him. If you have to hand over your work remotely — do the same :)

This is how, for example, we handed over the design of the Brickit website.

Unfortunately the video is only in Russian for now, so if you don’t understand it, you won’t :)

WHAT WAS NEXT
And next there was HTML coding :)

We have passed all the layouts to Brickit and explained all the details of the site. Now the site will bе streamlined by the Brickit team. Our patrol was over.

    THIS. WAS. LEGENDARY.

It’s so nice to create a website for a product that relates to you. I build Lego myself, so I realize the pain that Brickit solves.

And this is Lego after all! Who doesn’t love this cute construction set? Collecting Lego models on your computer during working hours?! What, they also pay for this?! Whoa! :)

Want to work together?

Leave your number or email. We will discuss the details and do the job as for ourselves!
